DO drink half of your weight in ounces of water BEFORE AND AFTER treatments.
Soft drinks, sodas, juices or teas DO NOT count towards your daily water intake. Depending on the drink, for example coffee, you will need to increase your water intake for that day to make up for the dehydration the caffeine causes.
DO balance your diet BEFORE AND AFTER.
Follow a low carb, low starch and low sugar diet.
DO NOT drink a lot of water right BEFORE your treatment.
During the treatment we will be working on areas that may involve your stomach. Having a full stomach could make you feel uncomfortable or affect the results of the treatment.
DO NOT eat 2 to 4 hours BEFORE treatment and wait 1 hour AFTER treatment to eat.
An empty stomach helps your body focus on metabolizing the released fat. However, it's just as important not to fast for a long period of time before a treatment because it can lower sugar levels.
DO NOT drink caffeine at least 24 hours BEFORE AND AFTER treatments.
Caffeine can cause dehydration and we need you to be as hydrated as possible during treatments.
DO NOT drink alcohol at least 72 hours BEFORE AND AFTER treatments.
Alcohol can interfere with your liver's ability to remove fat from your body because it will make alcohol metabolism it's priority over fat removal. This can slow down fat removal and affect your progress.
DO NOT have a hot shower, go to a spa or sauna right AFTER treatment.
Warm showers are fine.
DO NOT take any anti-inflammatories for 48 hours BEFORE AND AFTER treatments.
Don't take any aspirin or ibuprofen (motrin).
Why so much water?
Water helps your body flush out the fat that's been broken down during the treatment. When fat cells release their contents, your lymphatic system and liver work to process and remove them and water is essential in that process. Drinks like soda, juice, or tea don't hydrate as effectively and can add sugars or other compounds that slow things down.
Why avoid it?
Your liver has a big job - processing fats and toxins. After a body sculpting treatment, it needs to focus on breaking down and eliminating the released fat. If you drink alcohol, your liver will prioritize metabolizing that instead, which can delay or even block fat removal.
Why cut back?
Caffeine can dehydrate you and constrict blood vessels, which reduces circulation and slows the movement of lymph fluid - and that lymph fluid is what helps carry the fat and toxins out of your body.
Why skip aspirin or ibuprofen?
These medications can interfere with your body's natural inflammatory response, which is part of the healing and fat breakdown process. They might also slow circulation and lymphatic movement.
Why the fasting window?
Eating too close to your treatment can make digestion compete with the body's elimination processes. An empty stomach helps your body focus on metabolizing the released fat.
Why low carb/starch/sugar?
After body sculpting, your body is working to process and eliminate fats - adding lots of sugar or starch can cause your body to store new fat, which counteracts the treatment's effects. A clean, balanced diet keeps your metabolism in fat burning mode.
Why brisk exercise?
Movement - like walking, jogging, or light cardio - stimulates lymphatic flow and circulation. This helps your body remove the broken-down fat more efficiently and speeds up visible results.
Why do this?
Dry brushing stimulates your lymphatic system, which helps move toxins and fats out of your body more efficiently. It also exfoliates your skin and boosts circulation.
Why avoid heat?
Hot showers, saunas, etc. can increase inflammation and swelling right after your treatment, which can slow down recovery and results. Warm water is fine, but extreme heat is too much.
Why avoid tanning or direct exposure to sunlight?
Some treatment methods can make your skin more sensitive. Sun exposure may lead to irritation, redness, or even burns on treated areas.
